SOZO are looking for Magento 2 Frontend and Backend or Full Stack developers to join our team.

Formed in 2000, SOZO is an award-winning digital agency based in Cheltenham. We are looking for an experienced, forward thinking developer who is passionate about improving the internet and creating cutting-edge websites on the Magento platform.

We are a close knit team of 30 and we all share a real passion for the web. Our staff like to push the boundaries of what is possible online and are allowed to experiment and develop their talents within a collaborative environment.

Applicants must have at least 2 years commercial experience of programming, and advanced knowledge of building ecommerce websites using Magento.

Frontend Technical Skills Required:

• At least 2 years experience Magento 2 Development in an eCommerce environment
• A solid understanding of XML, HTML and CSS/LESS
• Git for pushing/pulling code/PR requests
• Bonus: Experience of Hyvä Theme (Tailwind CSS and Alpine.js)
• Bonus: PWA experience is a plus (Vue Storefront, React Storefront, PWA Studio)

Backend Technical Skills Required:

• At least 2 years experience Magento 2 Development in an eCommerce environment
• An excellent knowledge of PHP
• A solid understanding of XML, SQL and JavaScript/RequireJS
• Comfortable in configuring and running Magento sites in a local environment
• Ability to identify, analyse and resolve problems effectively
• Git for pushing/pulling code/PR requests
• Bonus: Creating and writing Cypress tests
• Bonus: GitHub Actions scripting experience
• Bonus: PWA experience is a plus (Vue Storefront, React Storefront, PWA Studio)
• Bonus: Page builder experience is a plus (Extending core components and creating new ones)
• Bonus: Experience of Hyvä Theme (Tailwind CSS and Alpine.js)

Personal Skills:

• Good standard of communication, both written and verbal
• Collaborate and works well within a close-knit team

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Building bespoke Magento websites
• Follow internal Magento development code ethics and review
• Adapt work inside a Magento team of backend, frontend, SEO specialists, and UX/UI designers.
• Daily tasks can consist of Extension Customisation, Bug Fixes, Issue Investigation, Custom Functionality Build, Performance Optimisation, Testing etc
• Track project/task time professionally and keep an organised project board and inbox
• Security updates and maintenance of sites
• Creating custom Magento modules (Backend)
• Server Optimisation and Management (Backend)

Job Location: Cheltenham (Tivoli) / Remote Options Available

Salary: Up to £25,000 – 40,000 per annum, depending on experience and level.
Plus pension scheme and holiday 20 days + Bank Holidays.
